That’s right, there’s going to be more than one market wrap-up post. Trust me, with the craziness that spread over 4 days, you’ll be happy there’s more than one post. You’ll happily dive into (albeit metaphorically) gown after glorious gown that came down the runway. Plus, these posts will give me the chance to introduce you to my market friends.
Starting our market trip off on the right page was the Grace Ormonde book launch gala at the Plaza Hotel. If ever you’ve read the opulent pages of Grace’s magazine, you’ll know instantly why this party was so elegant.

For those of you needing a current issue of Wedding Style (and who doesn’t?!), drop by Alta MODA for your complimentary copy.
So, are you ready? Let’s get go right to the gowns:
Augusta Jones is always a welcome way to start market. Greeting us was the ever effervescent Tricia. We somehow sucker her into coming to Utah once or twice a year. Many of you past brides have worked directly with her and know why we adore her.

Check out the blog post on Augusta while at market, but we’ll also share with you one of my tops and then Justin’s favorite Augusta Jones dress:

Next up was the darling and daring (especially with bucking the trends) Jorge Manuel. I rarely make a statement so bold, but I am pretty sure his collection was my top line of the entire market. He abandons the trends and starts his own. (Much like you.) He might be the designer for you. The gown below will show you why:

Next, we ran (ok, took a speedy cab) over to the piers to catch the Claire Pettibone show. At the entrance were lithe models donning fairy wings, long, colorful lashes, and custom Claire mini-dresses.

The lovely number below is one I won’t soon forget:

Before rushing out to our next show, we entered the Paris suite to select some bridal accessories for next year. Debra Moreland layers quality with style in each of her hand-crafted pieces. You can see the beauty and quality even in a photo:

The first full-on formal show was the combine Priscilla of Boston and Melissa Sweet runway presentation. You should read Utah Bride and Groom’s recap, but I”ll also leave you with my personal favorite from Priscilla.

Capping the night off was a raucous dinner in Little Italy with friends from my favorite bridal shops from across the country. (Hello Sara, Monica, Alison, Lissa, Tessa, and Zoe.)

Mega Post #2 will be live soon. See you then.
