Thrilled were we when last week we saw a rather gorgeous gal featured on Salt Lake Bride & Groom’s blog. That gorgeous gal is none other than Elora, a recent Alta Moda bride and a sharp intern with the glossy.

Just over a week ago, we got to spend a Sunny Sunday in a dear friend’s orchard with a team of talented and rather witty wedding vendors. David Newkirk’s vision of a striking couple surrounded by blossoming trees was effortlessly pulled together. And… it was featured today on Snippet & Ink!
Both gowns featured are from Monique Lhuillier’s Bliss collection.
David’s images definitely take center stage, but we thought you’d enjoy some behind-the-scenes shots of the action:

Necessity is the mother of all invention. And many of our beautiful Utah brides have always needed sleeves So, they’re nothing new to you and us.
One year ago, a very famous and very royal couple wed. There was never any question that Kate Middleton would wear sleeves on her wedding dress – hundreds of years of tradition couldn’t be broken. What was most wonderful about it, is that designers used it as a spring board to catapult the trend of new necklines and sleeved gowns forward. Strapless will always be elegant and will always be in style, but you and I alike are enjoying the rebirth of classically styled sleeves on wedding dresses.
Here are some sleeved wedding dress you may have noticed, or that have likely piqued your attention:
Soft cap-sleeves. Whether delicately beaded , soft lace, or ruched fabric, cap sleeves are ever-stylish and full of variety: Sweet, sexy, romantic.
Long, lace sleeves. All you have to do is think of Grace Kelly’s wedding dress, and you know why this is the picture of elegance. Timeless, lean, confident.
Elbow and 3/4 sleeves. You likely saw them make a resurgence with the Mad Men wardrobe glamour, now they’re here to stay. Preppy, tailored, very American.
And here are a few more that (joyfully) defy convention, but that still (or even more so) manage to make us love them:

Sara Marie is a gal who knows her coasts. Spending her time in sunny Southern California and Washington DC, we were happy to be able to work with her here in Salt Lake City.
Her gown was a customized Augusta Jones wedding dress of soft French lace and a Queen-Anne neckline – perfect for her temple wedding. As she put it, “My husbands reaction to me walking out in the dress was priceless”.
Thank you, Sara Marie, for letting us be a part of your wedding. We loved working with you.
Kayla is a bride with vision. She knew just what she wanted, she found the right vendors to make it happen, and it all came together at one stunningly beautiful wedding at Park City Mountain Resort last month.
Captured by the perfectly-chosen David Newkirk, Kayla and Brian’s 20’s themed wedding was full of flapper-style dresses, feathered headdresses, fedoras, suspenders, and of course, the Charleston. Every aspect of the decor, and even the attire of the guests, came together to complete Kayla’s vision perfectly.
Kayla wore a tiered lace gown from Amy Kuschel, with a satin pillbox hat and attached french net veil.

Megan was a dream, as were her mom and maids.
This beautiful Boise gal came to us for her wedding dress and we couldn’t have been happier to help her out. She found and fell for an Augusta Jones wedding dress, and added her personal stamp with a beaded belt detail.
Her wedding took place this last summer at the Boise Cathedral, with a reception at The Boise Depot.
Megan, we’re thankful for the chance to work with you…and for each drive you made from Boise. Congratulations!

Her curly dark locks captivate us. So does the pleasing scenery Utah is known for.
Music, mountains, and a gold and ivory wedding dress. This is why we love our brides and the weddings in this state.
