Yesterday, NPR published an article about the new “it” dessert.  Macaroons are set to take over the cupcake as the new treat in town.  There can be no doubt this will transfer seamless into weddings.  (Save the seams for your gown.)

When Shardae put on the gown, she just knew it.  She was that sure of herself and that sure of her Monique Lhuillier wedding dress.  She mentioned something to the effect the it just felt like her.  Romantic, pretty, and clever…yep, that’s Shardea.

Her event was held at Sleepy Ridge in Utah County and captured by the talented Darla Roze Photography.

With Culinary Crafts, the ideas just keep coming. 

Lounge areas at receptions are quite simply a good idea.  They provide a place for guests to gather as you take photos, house your cocktail hour, act as over-flow seating, …so many, many uses.

Now, I think I’m going to have to hit up Culinary Crafts for more trend-setting insights.

For several years now, Alta MODA has gathered the finest in Utah weddings at our place for a Holiday party.  Seeing the best of the best in their most chic attire became, well, tired.  So, last night, we asked them all to class it down a bit and join us for an evening of kitsch, camp, and cliche.

Antler headbands, Santa hats, so-bad-they’re-good sweaters, and mistletoe were in abundant supply.

This party not only gave us a chance to catch up on all the new and amazing things these talented people offer, but it also allowed us to capture a few photos of them at their most relaxed.  Think incriminating evidence.

A prize for most gloriously tacky sweater went to Tiffany Izatt.  Because of her dedication to keeping the shoulder pads in, she was a clear winner!

The night was catered by Brown Brothers Catering.  Tony and Drew made sure to portion out time to party with us as well.

Our friendliest friends at Enizio never look bad, even when they’re trying.

Santa took his place next to our lovely mannequins, while favorite holiday movies played throughout the shop…and don’t forget the roaring digital fire.

A heartfelt thanks goes out to all of our friends for attending and sharing the joy.

Great food deserves great surroundings.  Consider framing your menu and guests with a lush and luxe table setting.  Culinary Crafts loved this rich and fresh tablescape.

It reminds me of a modern Mid-Summer’s Night Dream.

Drink Up!  Mocktails (thanks to Culinary Crafts) are a splendid way to serve a variety of specialty drinks at your wedding.  These becoming  are quite popular here in Utah.

Shown above in petite juice bottles and topped off with colorful straws, it’s a fun and easy way to add a splash of color and flavor to your wedding feast.

Today’s Creative Catering idea, courtesy of Culinary Crafts, is almost tastier than the last idea.

Flavored popcorn can be used as a nice passed-around appetizer or as an after dinner snack.  A truffle oil variety is shown above, but talk to your caterer for unique ideas that personalize it to fit the season, menu, and wedding theme.

Idea #1 – French Macaroons

Just think of the options for matching wedding colors and adding them to your candy buffet.

What a night!  Last night Alta MODA was privileged enough to have dozens of our brides drop in for a Bride’s Night Out.

Catered food from Brown Brother’s Catering kept us all coming back for more.  The caramel-filled, chocolate desserts were a crowd favorite.  Decor, including unbelievable gorgeous entry-way lamps, were provided by Alpine Event Rentals.  Make-Overs were done on-site by the high-style team at Enizio.  FotoCabina kept our brides entertained with their luxury photo booth.  And sample bouquets from Every Blooming Thing were on-hand and in-hand to help brides get the total picture.

Thanks to all of the stellar Utah wedding vendors that lent us a hand and took such good care of our brides.  And thanks to the many brides who attended last night.  See you next time.
