Are you ready? We know you’re ready. Our Annual Sample Sale is December 10th. It’s a lot of fun, kind-of crazy, but also the kind of thing bridal dreams (rather, fantasies) are made of.

Here are some helpful details to gear you up for the sale of all wedding sales.

There will be 50+ couture wedding dresses discounted 50 – 85%. Gowns start as low as $500, with many under $1000. (No joke, MANY)

For those of you with modest needs, there will be dozens of gowns that can accommodate temple-ready options.

You’ll discover gown from all your favorites; Monique Lhuillier, Vera Wang, Priscilla of Boston (may the label rest in peace), Augusta Jones (A Utah favorite), Anne Barge … and all the other best designers.

Tips, tricks, and general things you’ll want to know:

• Sale hours are 10am – 3pm, December 10th only

• No appointments: First come, First served (wait list)

• Gowns are sold as is

• No holds and all sales final – Come ready to buy

• Most gowns are suited for street sizes 4-12

• We only do this once a year – So, now is the time

• Space is limited; only one or two key decision makers/guests per bride

Our gowns are treated with love and respect and the best of care year round, so you can be assured you’re getting your dream dress at a enviable price.

We’ll expand on this later, but this sale is a lot of fun. Last year, and the year before that, the Alta MODA staff arrived early to find a couple dozen brides lined-up outside the doors. That’s how much you need to be at this sale.

Every so often, we meet a couple whose vision of their wedding day is so complete, it extends to every detail. From the invitations to the venue, from the bridal attire to the bridesmaids’ hair styles, everything is coordinated to create one big picture for their big day.

Kayla and Brian are one of those couples.

They have extended their 1920’s speakeasy theme through every aspect of their wedding plans, including their engagement photos by the always-stellar David Newkirk.

With such amazing and creative engagements like these, we can’t wait to see what Kayla, Brian, and David come up with on the big day, when Kayla dons a gorgeous tiered lace Amy Kuschel gown.

Your favorite home-grown suit maker, Beckett & Robb, recently opened their doors on a new downtown Salt Lake City showroom. Justin and I dropped in yesterday for the grand tour and, we must say, it’s everything you’d expect from the savvy and suave gentlemen behind this bespoke label.

Located at 150 South Main (even their address sounds classy), their new shop carries a variety of samples from their made-to-measure possibilities, as well as ties, knots, pocket squares, tie clips AND a whole new line of ready-to-wear full suits. (For those of you needing something in a hurry.)

Whether you’re needing a suit for an upcoming wedding (which, most of you are) or something dapper for the holidays, pay them a visit. It’s the perfect way of supporting local style.

The staffs of Alta Moda and Lily & Iris teamed up yesterday with Pepper Nix, Logan Walker, and Enizio Hair & Makeup Artistry to create a photo shoot that was as beautiful as it was simple.

Hailey, bridesmaid dress consultant extraordinaire, had her hair and makeup styled by the lovely Morgans of Enizio.

Then stunned us all with her hidden modeling talents, wearing a gorgeous Jorge Manuel gown.

Pepper and Logan put their brilliant heads together to create the perfect shots.

And then the rest of the Alta Moda staff jumped into the shot to show off what their skills.

A very, very special thanks to all the vendors who collaborated on this shoot. You were all simply spectacular.

Viansa is as beautiful and charming as her unique name suggests. And finding her perfect wedding gown only magnified that beauty on her wedding day.

Viansa’s lace bridal gown is from Modern Trousseau, a favorite of Alta Moda brides. Salt Lake area photographer Travis J worked with the couple to capture the most beautiful formal photos, with the backdrop of the fall colors of the Utah mountains.

I recently had the pleasure of meeting Angela Desveaux, the editor or WedLuxe Magazine – Canada’s Luxury Wedding Magazine. The publication is dreamy. Nothing short of it. From the moment you pick it up, the feel of the paper alone will let you know you’re about to turn the page into something truly inspirational for your wedding planning.

The sale will run December 2nd and 3rd only, and it’s first-come-first-served. Doors open at 11 a.m. on Friday, and 10 a.m. on Saturday. Sale dresses will be clearly marked, and will be sold as-is (alterations not included). But of course they are always happy to supply recommendations on some great local seamstresses if your dream dress needs a little tweaking.
