Subtle Reminder

02/24/10 - By: Hilary - Topics: , - No Comments

SUPER trunk show this weekend, February 26th and 27th.

Subtle not you thing?  Good!  Than you’ve found the right blog post.

Though some of the wedding dresses headed to Utah for this weekend’s SUPER trunk show dance with the demure, they stray far from boring.  The gowns coming are from Melissa Sweet (sophisticated and playful), PLATINUM (grand and show-stopping), Reverie (soft and chic), and Priscilla of Boston (classic and refined).  Four designers, one weekend!

If you’re ready to find your gown (and not just any gown, but the unique, flattering, fantastic gown you really want) give us a call at 801.531.1215 to set your appointment for this weekend’s trunk show.

We love dreamy dresses…

Fast Feature: Jamie and Christopher

02/23/10 - By: Hilary - Topics: , - 1 Comment

You know those people you meet and instantly you love them?  Well, that’s how the entire Alta MODA staff felt about Jamie.  Everything from her soft blond curls, best-ever smile, and contagious laugh endeared her to us.  She and Christopher were wed last summer in the Salt Lake temple with a welcoming reception at the groom’s residence.

The fantastic photos are from Laura at Busath Photography.

Jamie’s modest wedding dress is from Amy Kuschel and is made of the most unique lace.  Love it!

Thank you, thank you, thank you Jamie for bringing Alta MODA in on your big day.  We loved working with you and your adorable mom.

Our SUPER trunk show is but a week away; February 26th and 27th.

So, to the brides we have not yet met:

You will not want to skip this event.  We don’t even know you yet, but we know you’re out there, searching for something special, something to less run-of-the-mill, something sensational.  If we’re lucky enough to meet you at the SUPER trunk show next weekend, we just know you’ll find the one.

The wedding dresses making their way to Utah for this event have unstoppable style and range from the demure to the dramatic.  I, of course, posted a photo of a dramatic style.

Fluffy hat not included.

Now In-Store: Confection

02/18/10 - By: Hilary - Topics: - No Comments

Her name is Confection and she’s perfectly scrumptious and stylized.  You can almost imagine walking down a Parisian avenue and seeing her on display, overshadowing all the other sweet treats in the window.  (Ahh, Paris…)

Monique Lhuillier never falls short when redefining a classic silhouette or fabric.  Toss is an altogether new neckline and you have Confection perfection.

Want to know what happens when you add an decadently beaded belt?  Take a deep breath before you find out, because it will take what breath you have left away!

No Homework Required

02/15/10 - By: Hilary - Topics: , - No Comments

This Thursday, February 18th, is Utah’s first ever Brideology Educational Party.  This is not a bridal fair (whew!), rather an intimate and personalized gathering where you can learn the need-to-know tips and tricks for a successful, luxurious wedding here in the Beehive State.

I will be bringing some of my new, favorite lovelies.  Gowns that’ll knock your socks off! (You might even want to wear two pair, just to be safe.)

Because this is an exclusive event, you’ll need to register. You can find all the details here, here, and here.

See you Thursday.

Make Room for Macaroons

02/13/10 - By: Hilary - Topics: , - No Comments

Yesterday, NPR published an article about the new “it” dessert.  Macaroons are set to take over the cupcake as the new treat in town.  There can be no doubt this will transfer seamless into weddings.  (Save the seams for your gown.)

Perfect for weddings, this petite, flavorful confection adapts to color and palette like no other dessert.  Not to mention they’re just so tasty.

Through the creative inspiration of Culinary Crafts and Utah Bride and Groom, we discovered this scrumptious idea a few months back.

Let us know which colors of macaroons you’ll choose.
